Preserve the purchase state
Photograph the box, serial labels, seals, charger, and visible cosmetic condition before customization. Keep packaging until the acceptance window closes.
Separate browser checks from physical checks
Use browser tests for visible behavior, but also inspect hinges, chassis, ports, charger fit, fan noise, sleep/wake, firmware, and manufacturer diagnostics.
Export one report
A dated report with notes and screenshots is more useful than memory. It should state what was not tested and avoid claiming certification.
