Start with repeatability
A real panel defect stays in the same physical location when the image, browser window, and viewing angle change. Dirt moves when cleaned; content artifacts move with the window; reflections change with the room.
Use more than one field
White, red, green, blue, and black backgrounds expose different failure modes. A single screenshot or a single color is weak evidence.
Record before applying pressure
Do not press, rub, or run aggressive “pixel repair” animations before documenting the condition. Pressure can damage a panel and makes warranty evidence less clear.
